Your partner for
functional surface technology

We specialize in scalable, bio-inspired nanostructures - bringing performance to medical and technical surfaces.

Our expertise

Following several years of research at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), we have developed a new method to enhance the performance of technical surfaces using our proprietary hydrothermal oxidation process.

Our approach is inspired by natural surfaces such as insect wings and plant leaves, which exhibit advanced functionalities like reduced bacterial adhesion, fluid control, or increased durability.

These effects can now be transferred to metal components - without coatings, without lasers, and with high compatibility for industrial applications.

Where we can create value

Our technology can be applied to titanium, aluminum, and other metals – making surfaces hygienic, wear-resistant or fluid-friendly.

It was initially developed for medical implants to reduce bacterial adhesion and therefore infections, but today it also offers added value in sectors such as water treatment, food and beverage production, sanitary, aerospace and more.

Depending on the application, the surface can be tailored to reduce friction, improve wettability or prevent contamination.
